TUCSON, Ariz. — Denisa Vodickova captured medalist honors and Texas Tech closed with the low round for the second straight day to earn a runner-up finish Sunday at the MountainView Collegiate at The Preserve Golf Club at Saddlebrooke.

The Red Raiders fired a 10-under 278 in the final round — the best score in the 16-team field — to finish at 16-under 848 (290-280-278), four shots behind No. 25 Iowa State. The runner-up result marks Texas Tech's top team finish of the season outside of its victory at the Red Raider Invitational in the fall.

Vodickova led the charge with her first career individual title, posting a 54-hole career-low 9-under 207 (71-67-69). The sophomore followed Saturday's second-round 67, which matched her career low, with a 3-under 69 on Sunday to secure the win. With her rounds on Saturday and Sunday, she doubled her season total of rounds in the 60s to four. Vodickova becomes the second Red Raider to earn medalist honors this season, joining Lauren Zaretsky.

Zaretsky, meanwhile, delivered one of the top rounds of the day, surging into a tie for sixth at 6-under 210 (71-72-67) after a 5-under 67 in the final round. The finish marks her fifth top-10 showing of the season and the 13th of her career. It is also her third top-10 finish over her last four events.

Klara Hurtova tied for 17th at 1-under 215 (74-70-71), while Cameron Freund tied for 34th at 4-over 220 (74-71-75). Maja Ambroziak rounded out the lineup tied for 44th at 5-over 221 (76-74-71).

Texas Tech returns to action April 6-7 at the Huntington Bank Collegiate in Dallas, hosted by SMU at Trinity Forest Golf Club, to close its regular-season schedule. The Big 12 Championship follows April 23-25.
