Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at Big 12 Fall Preview

AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Tech University women's golf team improved four spots from the second round to finish fifth in the Big 12 Conference Preview.
The Red Raiders shot 17-over-par 305 today, the third best round of the day, and finished at 70-over 934. The Red Raiders were in ninth on Saturday after the second round on the par 72, 6,086-yard Circle C Golf Club.
Oklahoma State won the Big 12 Preview with a 44-over total of 908.
Host Texas (916) finished second, Texas A&M (922) third and Oklahoma (929) fourth. Iowa State's Noel Jacobusse and Texas A&M's Marta Ostos each shot 6-over 222 to tie for first place individually. Oklahoma State's (224) Jo Jo Robertson was third.
Texas Tech senior Brooke Lowrance shot 11-over 227 to finish seventh, five shots off the pace. She shot a 1-over 73 on Sunday.
Junior Heather Wrede tied for 13th at 15-over 231. Junior Jamie Vannoy tied for 16th at 17-over 233. Freshman Jennifer Newhouse tied for 44th with a 27-over par total of 243. Sophomore Priscillia Hunt shot 40-over 256.
