Women's Tennis Loses to New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Texas Tech women's tennis team fell to the University of New Orleans on Thursday by a score of 6-3. The loss drops Tech to 4-9 overall (2-4 in Big 12).
The Red Raiders split the six singles match-ups with UNO but were swept in the three doubles matches. One singles and one doubles match were defaulted to UNO.
Winning again for Tech at No. 2 singles was sophomore Alenka Ovin who defeated Mandi Liebenberg 6-1, 6-0. The win was her fourth in a row and moved her mark on the year to 9-4. Senior Misty Meyer picked up her second singles victory of the season with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Yolanda DuPreez. Also winning for Tech was freshman Noel Ruiz at No. 5 singles.
The Red Raiders will be in action again Saturday, March 20 at Tulane University. The match is slated to begin at noon.
