Koppes finishes 12th at Texas A&M Invitational

College Station, Tx. - Texas Tech's Kristen Koppes finished 12th in a field of 157 runners at the Texas A&M Invitational cross country meet on Saturday. Koppes led the way for the Tech team as it finished 7th in the 19-team field.
Koppes' time of 18:24 in the 5K event was the best of three Raiders who finished in the top 31. Courtney Nolen finished 24th witha a time of 19:05 and Tara Hangge posted a 19:22 mark to finish 31st.
Also, running for Tech were Aimee Roberson (20:34, 78th), Keeli Hanzelka (20:54, 91st), Ngozi Iwu (21:00) 95th) and Amber Affeldt (21:18, 104th).
Samson Ngetich paced the men's team as it finished 17th in a field of 22 teams. Ngetich finished 53rd, in a field of 183 runners, with a time of 27:50 in the 8K run. David Leigh finished close behind Ngetich in 65th with a time of 28:07.
Other finishers for the men's team included Ismael Dutchover (28:58, 100th), Chris Thomas (29:03, 104th), Jesse Williams (29:37, 127th), Gary Bodony (30:02, 133rd) and Adrian Dobbs (31:06, 154th).
