Texas Tech, Arizona State Game Moved to September 6

Texas Tech's season-opening football game at Arizona State has been moved to Mon., Sept. 6, to accommodate a national cable telecast by Fox Sports Network, Tech Director of Athletics Gerald Myers announced today. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. (CST). The game was originally scheduled for Sat., Sept. 4.

"We're excited to have this opportunity to participate in a nationally-televised game on Fox Sports Net," Myers said. "This is a tremendous opportunity for exposure for Texas Tech and the football program."

The game will be the only college or professional football game of the day. The NFL's Monday Night Football broadcasts begin one week later (Sept. 13). The telecast is expected to reach approximately 78 million homes nationwide.
