Bownds Picks up All American Honor

Texas Tech senior outside linebacker Reagan Bownds has been named to the first unit of the preseason All American Farm Team sponsored by Dodge Truck and Successful Farming magazine.
Bownds (5-foot-10, 190 pounds) recorded 68 tackles last season, seventh most on the Tech team and fourth among returning Red Raider players. He also had six quarterback pressures, one sack and two interceptions.
Players eligible for selection are those who grew up on a farm or ranch. Bownds is from Class 2A Eldorado near San Angelo.
A $500 scholarship is donated to the respective university of each first-team honoree. The five-year-old All American Farm Team program has awarded $160,000 in scholarships.
