Volleyball to Host Four Points Classic

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech will host the five-team, 10-match Four Points Classic volleyball tournament this weekend in the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum. Four teams including SMU, North Carolina State, Wright State and Utah will all visit Lubbock in the round robin tournament.
The tournament is the 21st annual Red Raider volleyball tournament since 1976 (the tourney was not held in 1986, 1987 or 1988. Texas Tech has won nine tournament titles while the Red Raiders are 54-16 in the matches through the years.
The matches begin at 11 a.m. each day. Texas Tech plays SMU at 3 p.m. Friday, North Carolina State at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Wright State at 3 p.m. Saturday and Utah at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Texas Tech enters the weekend at 1-0 after defeating New Mexico State on Wednesday evening 15-11, 15-11, 15-12.
Texas Tech will then host UT-Pan American on Sunday at noon in the Coliseum. Tech then travels to Alaska for the Nonook Classic Volleyball Tournament in Fairbanks, Alaska next Wednesday. Teams competing in the Nonook Classic include Oregon State, Ball State and Alaska-Fairbanks.
