Volleyball to Host Nebraska, Travel to Kansas State

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball team will begin Big 12 Conference play Friday as the Red Raiders host Nebraska at Coronado High School. The match is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Texas Tech will charter a flight to Manhattan, Kansas to play Kansas State at 7 p.m.
Texas Tech brings a 10-2 record into the start of Big 12 Conference competition. Texas Tech has won six of its last seven matchups including a 3-1 Saturday victory against New Mexico.
Nebraska is currently 8-2 with a No. 5 national ramking while Kansas State enters at a 6-2 slate and No. 24 ranking. Nebraska plays Kansas State Wednesday evening.
The weekend begins Texas Tech's three-match stretch against nationally ranked teams as the Red Raiders will next host Texas A&M on Wednesday at Coronado High School (7:30 p.m. start).
"Playing three ranked teams in a row will be a tough test for young team," Texas Tech head coach Jeff Nelson. "We have had a successful start to our season and we'll have to step it up with the upcoming conference season ahead of us."
Coronado High School is located on 34th Street in Lubbock between the intersections of Slide and Quaker.
