LUBBOCK, Texas - Local artist Paul Milosevich will present the Texas Tech athletic department with a pair of paintings which depict the tradition and heritage of both Red Raider and Lady Raider basketball. The respective prints will be presented at halftime of both games Saturday at the United Spirit Arena.
Both Texas Tech basketball teams are hosting Big 12 Conference opponents Saturday. The Lady Raiders (12-2, 1-2) entertain Oklahoma State (10-4, 2-0) at noon. The Red Raiders (9-3, 0-1) play host to Texas A&M (4-9, 0-2) at 5 p.m. in a game televised regionally by FOX Sports Net.
The Tech athletic department recently commissioned Milosevich to do the commemorative paintings, with proceeds from sale of the limited edition prints going toward scholarship endowment for both programs. Milosevich, a former Texas Tech art professor, is a renowned golf illustrator who has homes in both Lubbock and Santa Fe.
The limited edition women?s basketball print is entitled ?Champs?, while the men?s print is called ?Hoops History?. Both feature top Texas Tech players and coaches and are available at the Double T Shoppe at the United Spirit Arena and Jones Stadium.
The unsigned prints sell for $25, but 200 prints signed by Milosevich are also available for $100.
