Ellis Out For Season

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech men?s basketball coach James Dickey announced today that Red Raider center Andy Ellis will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a dislocated shoulder in Texas Tech?s game at Nebraska Wednesday night.
Following 3-4 weeks of rehabilitation, Ellis will undergo surgery to correct any damage done by the dislocation.
?We?re disappointed for Andy, his family and our team,? Dickey said. ?We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to having him back at full speed during the summer.?
The 6-foot-11 Lamesa, Texas, native was averaging 16.9 points per game and was leading the Red Raiders with 8.9 rebounds per game. He entered this week ranked in the Big 12 in scoring (7th) and rebounding (5th). He also was ranked 27th nationally in rebounding.
