LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech geared its focus to the task at hand and began preparations for Saturday's homecoming meeting with Baylor. The team worked through a closed practice on the grass field east of the Athletic Training Center.
"Our guys have focused their attention completely on Baylor," head coach Mike Leach said. "We had a good workout today and last night."
When asked about the loss at A&M and its affect on the team, Leach said, "we put the loss behind us when we boarded the plane after the game. The team is remaining focused on winning one game a week."
Texas Tech worked out in full pads following a brief Monday night practice in shells. The team began installing the offensive and defensive game plan against the scout team.
The Red Raiders and the Bears meet for the 59th time in the series. Baylor leads the series 32-25-1, but Tech has taken the last four. The Raiders won last year's meeting 35-7 in Waco and have averaged 36.5 points, while limiting the Bears to 18.5 points per game over the last four years. Tech holds a 18-13-1 advantage at Jones SBC Stadium.
