LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech put thoughts of trick or treating on hold for two hours Tuesday afternoon to implement the game plan for Saturday's showdown with Big 12 rival Texas. The team worked out on the grass practice fields east of the Athletic Training Center on the Tech campus.
The Red Raiders host the Longhorns Sat., Nov. 4, at 6 p.m. (CT). The game will be televised on FOX Sports Net as network's national broadcast at 6 p.m. (CT). Ron Thulin, James Lofton and Eric Clemons call the action from Jones SBC Stadium.
The Red Raiders would like to exhibit the same offensive production the team posted last week at Kansas when Tech scored a season-high 45 points. The team also is looking to shut down a powerful Texas passing attack with a pass defense which has been ranked No. 1 in the nation much of the season.
"Our biggest concern right now is working on responsibility, assignments and technique," Texas Tech linebacker coach Ruffin McNeill said. "We (defense) are focusing on ourselves.
"The defense looked good today," McNeill added. "The first and second units were attentive and focused. It was pleasing to see the focus by both teams."
The Red Raiders and the Longhorns have met 48 times throughout the history of both programs. Texas holds a 35-13 advantage in the series and leads 12-8 in Lubbock.
