Red Raiders End Weekend in Waco

The Texas Tech women's tennis team finished the Baylor Tennis Classic in Waco, Texas on a positive note. The Red Raiders closed the weekend with a 32-16 record in singles.
Texas Tech's Stephanie Mueller won flight "E" in singles by beating Emily Foster of UT- San Antonio, 6-4, 6-1. Noel Ruiz fell in the championship for flight "C" in singles to Monica Gonzalez of Baylor, 6-3, 6-1. Dana Giles won the consolation bracket in flight "D" singles by beating Sarah Iqbal of UL-Monroe, 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles action, Tech's Beverly Dawson and Barbara Schraml were not able to finish the winner of the consolation bracket against Kendall Brooks and Alenka Ovin of Tech in flight "A" doubles because of inclement weather.
The Red Raiders will compete in the University of Houston Tournament in Houston, Texas, Fri., Oct. 20 and Sat., Oct. 21.
