LUBBOCK, Texas - The Big 12 Conference announced today that FOX Sports Net will televise Texas Tech's Oct. 14 Big 12 Conference game against top-ranked Nebraska as part of the network's national package. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Jones SBC Stadium in Lubbock.
The game against the Huskers marks the third time this season that Texas Tech has been on television, all three times on FOX Sports Net. The Red Raiders opener against New Mexico at Jones SBC Stadium was a FOX Sports broadcast as was the game at Texas A&M.
The Red Raiders enter the game with a 5-1 record and 1-1 mark in league play. Texas Tech knocked off Baylor 28-0 in its last game for the team's first conference win of the season. Nebraska is undefeated on the season at 5-0 and is ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll. The Huskers are 2-0 in Big 12 play.
The game against Nebraska marks the fifth time since the AP poll began in 1936 that Texas Tech has faced the nation's No. 1 team. The Red Raiders faced No. 1 Texas in 1977, top-ranked Southern California in 1979, No. 1 Washington in 1982 and top-ranked Nebraska in 1994. The USC and Nebraska games were played in Lubbock.
