Honoring Spike Dykes

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Committee for Champions and the Texas Tech Lettermen's Association will co-host a reception for former Red Raider football coach Spike Dykes on Saturday, March 11 at the County Line Restaurant.
The Spike Dykes Appreciation Reception it is open to the public and there is no admission charge. The informal event will be held from 3-5 p.m. and there will be a brief program.
"We just thought it was important for Tech fans to be able to express their appreciation to Coach Dykes for everything he did for the university and the community," said Mike Gallagher, co-chairman of the Committee for Champions.
"As a former player, I think it's important to let Coach Dykes know what he meant to us," said Scott Toman, president of the Lettermen's Association.
