LUBBOCK, Texas - Day three of Texas Tech's spring football drills marked the first workout in full pads for the Red Raiders. Tech donned shorts and helmets for the first two practices this week. The practice was the third of 15 scheduled practices before the spring game on April 15.
"I thought we had a good practice, but the other two were better," Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach said. "We were spotty in drills, but overall it was a good afternoon."
Leach pointed out individuals in the running and passing games as standouts for the afternoon's practice.
"James Easterling did a nice job running the ball," Leach said. "Both Kliff Kingsbury and B.J. Symons did some good things passing and (receiver) Tim Baker has been looking good."
Texas Tech resumes practice Saturday at 10 a.m. on the grass fields southeast of Jones Stadium. Saturday's practice will include a brief controlled scrimmage toward the end of workouts.
