Tech Travels Set to Tee Off in Laredo, Little Rock

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's men's golf team will play two tournaments in the next six days, first competing in the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas, this weekend. The Red Raiders will participate in the 2000 Copy Systems/Toshiba Copiers Intercollegiate at the beginning of next week in Little Rock, Ark.
Both tournaments are 54-hole events. The Border Olympics will be played at the Laredo Country Club, a 7,125-yard, par 72 layout. The event tees off with 36 holes on Friday and 18 on Saturday. Texas A&M is the host school.
Arkansas-Little Rock hosts the 2000 Copy Systems/Toshiba Copiers Intercollegiate next Monday and Tuesday at the Chenal Country Club, 6,631-yard, par 72 course. The event also is a 54-hole format with 36 holes to be played Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
Freshman Mark Hull continues to lead the team with a 74.5 stroke per round average, while sophomore transfer David Bolen follows with a 74.6 average. Freshman Trey Pyka and junior Corey Henegar check in at 75.7 and 76.2 strokes, respectively.
