Red Raiders Drop Match to Oklahoma

The Texas Tech Red Raiders lost in women's tennis action this afternoon at Lubbock High School to the Oklahoma Sooners by a score of 8-1. Texas Tech falls to 4-19 on the season with the loss.
The lone point of the day came at the No. 2 position where freshman Ayako Suzuki defeated Angela Stroup in two sets, 7-6(7), 6-2. The win gives Suzuki her tenth win of the season. She is now 10-9 overall and 5-5 in conference.
Besides the point for Suzuki, the Red Raiders were unable to capture a match as the Sooners defeated Texas Tech in straight sets in all five of their singles victories. In doubles play the No. 1 combo of Amanda Earhart-Savell and Suzuki forfeited their match. The Sooner squad took the No. 2 and No. 3 points by scores of 8-4.
Tech will be in action Saturday when they travel to Austin and face the Texas Longhorns.
