Tech Volleyball Prepares For Oklahoma

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball team will leave for Norman, Okla. on Friday for a Saturday match with the Oklahoma Sooners. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the OU Fieldhouse.
Texas Tech (10-5, 3-3) will be looking to avenge a tough four-game loss to the 17th ranked Texas A&M Aggies this past Wednesday night. Texas A&M handed Tech its first home loss of the season and just the third-ever loss at the United Spirit Arena.
The Oklahoma Sooners come into the match with Texas Tech with a 2-14 overall record and 1-5 mark in Big 12 play. The Sooners fell to the Baylor Bears 3-0 on Wednesday night to extend a losing streak to five matches.
Oklahoma is paced by Logan Pierce who tallies 148 kills on the season and 121 digs. Leading the Sooner offense is setter Jessica Barney who has 492 assists to her credit and 57 kills.
Saturday's match-up will be the 38th overall meeting between the two schools on the volleyball court dating all the way back to the 1976 season. Texas Tech leads the all-time series 27-10 and has won six straight matches against Oklahoma.
