Tech Volleyball Sweeps Oklahoma, 3-0

NORMAN, Okla. - The Texas Tech volleyball team picked up its 11th win of the season in a 3-0 (30-17, 30-27, 30-19) route of the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night at the OU Fieldhouse in Norman, Okla.
With the win, Texas Tech improves to 11-5 overall and 4-3 in the Big 12 play while Oklahoma falls to 2-15 overall and 1-6 in the league.
Senior Heather Hughes-Justice put up a very impressive performance on the evening with 17 kills on 30 attacks and no errors for .567 hitting. Kelly Johnson tallied 12 kills on 26 attacks for .385 hitting and led the team defensively with nine digs.
"I was extremely pleased with our performance tonight," said Texas Tech head coach Jeff Nelson. "Heather and Kelly both had outstanding matches and gained a lot of confidence in the process."
As a team, Texas Tech had its most potent offensive outing hitting a season-high .405. Texas Tech returns to action on Monday night against the Texas Longhorns at 6 p.m. in the United Spirit Arena.
