TWO SLIP AWAY LAST SEASON
Texas Tech had opportunities in both games against the Longhorns last season to come away victorious, but couldn't seal the deal at the end.

In UT's 72-59 win in Lubbock, Chris Mihm led five UT players in double figures with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Rayford Young led all scorers with 18 points, while Mario Layne and Jayson Mitchell added 11 points each.
Mihm led UT in the second meeting, a 76-60 win in Austin, with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Four other players also scored in double digits.
Layne led Tech with 20 points, followed by Young's 13.
