Red Raiders Set for Kansas City

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech will meet Oklahoma State in the first round of the 2001 Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. Tip-off is set for 2:20 p.m. (CST) Thu., March 8, at Kemper Arena. The game will be televised regionally by ESPN Regional.
The Red Raiders are the No. 12 seed in this year's tournament and Oklahoma State checks in at No. 5.
Texas Tech and Oklahoma State met twice during the regular season with the Cowboys claiming wins in Stillwater (65-46) and Lubbock (66-58). OSU owns a 17-6 series advantage against the Red Raiders.
In other Big 12 first round action, No. 8 Colorado will face No. 9 Baylor in the first game, while No. 7 Nebraska and No. 10 Kansas State meet in the third game. No. 6 Missouri and No. 11 Texas A&M face off in the nightcap.
Iowa State is the tournament's No. 1 seed and received a first round bye along with No. 2 Kansas, No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 4 Texas. The Cyclones face the winner of the Colorado-Baylor game and the Jayhawks meet the winner of the Kansas State-Nebraska game. The Missouri-Texas A&M winner will draw Oklahoma in the second round, while the winner of the Oklahoma State-Tech game faces Texas. The second round games will be played on Friday followed by the semifinals on Saturday and the championship game on Sunday.
