FORT WORTH, Texas -- Kerry Hodges went 5 for 5 with four runs scored and an RBI to pace the Texas Tech Red Raiders to a 14-4 win over the TCU Horned Frogs on Tuesday afternoon at TCU Diamond in Fort Worth.
Texas Tech scored five runs in the fourth and four in the seventh to help move past the Horned Frogs. Cory Metzler (4-2) picked up his fourth win of the season after pitching 7.0 innings with eight strikeouts while allowing just two earned runs.
Texas Tech returns to action this weekend for a three-game series with the Kansas Jayhawks. The first pitch of the Kansas series is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday night at Dan Law Field in Lubbock.
