Fifteen Track Athletes Named to Academic All-Big 12 squad

LUBBOCK, Texas - Fifteen Texas Tech track and field athletes were named to the Academic All-Big 12 squad on Wednesday by the conference office, including three females with perfect 4.0 grade-point-averages.
Six Tech women made the squad, with three on the first team. The first-team members, Brittany Lanehart, Megan Schuessler and Shannon Spaulding, were three of seven individuals nominated with perfect GPAs. Melonie Barrow, Leigh Daniel and Katy Godeke also were honored as part of the second team.
For the men, nine squad members made the academic team, including six on the first team. Ryan Curry, Adrian Dodds, Jeremy Granger, George Odom, Andrew Schoppe and Chris Thomas were all named to the first team, while Jon Decker, Evan Figueroa and Brian Wade were members of the second team.
The track squad will run this weekend in College Station, Texas, in the Big 12 Championships, hosted on the campus of Texas A&M.
