Texas Tech Cross Country Teams Travel To Oklahoma State

LUBBOCK, Texas - Coach Dave Smith's cross country teams will be on the road at Oklahoma State this Saturday to compete in the Cowboy Jamboree. After sweeping the New Mexico State cross country meet last week, the men's and women's cross country teams plan to produce a repeat.

Sophomores Joe McCellon and Scott Moore will lead the way for the men's cross country team after placing third and fourth, respectively, at New Mexico State. McCellon ran a time of 23:50.53 and Moore ran a time of 24:11.39 last week.

Junior Shannon Spaulding, along with sophmores Katie Lyman and Tracie Akerhieln, will guide the way to a possible repeat of their first place team finish at New Mexico State. Spaulding placed second and ran a time of 18:54.75 last week. Lyman and Akerhieln placed fourth and fifth with times of 19:05.09 and 19:16.39, respectively.

The men's 8K race will begin at 9:10 a.m. and the women's 5K race will begin at 9:40 a.m.
