Tech ended the 2001 season with a 37-24 record, 7-6 at home, earning a trip to the NCAA tournament, where it was eliminated by Arizona in Region I play.
Red Raider coach Bobby Reeves is bringing in seven new players this year including the California Junior College Player of the Year from West Valley J.C. in Esmerelda Perez.
Work on Rocky Johnson Field is nearly completed with seats and a press box being added over the summer. A lighting system will be the finishing touch to the completion of The Rock. Seating capacity for the field is 586, with the possibility of temporary bleachers being added.
Practices will be Monday through Friday at 2:30 at The Rock.
