Kicking Off
Texas Tech won the opening coin toss and elected to receive. The Red Raiders will defend the west endzone. Texas Tech now has a record of 5-4 with the opening coin toss. Vincent Meeks replaced Ivory McCann as the deep receiver on the opening kick-off while Geremy Woods also made his first appearance on special teams as a deep receiver.
- Texas Tech placekicker Robert Treece gave Texas Tech a 3-0 lead with 11:47 remaining in the first quarter when he connected on a 22-yard field goal. Texas Tech has now scored on its opening drive five times this season as the Red Raiders have put up two touchdowns and three field goals.

Kingsbury Surpasses Hall
Senior quarterback Kliff Kingsbury moved past Robert Hall into third place on the single-season total offense list as he now has 3,143 yards. Hall totaled 3,039 yards of total offense in 1993.
Texas Tech Notables
- Kliff Kingsbury's four interceptions in the game is a career high.
- Kliff Kingsbury did not throw a touchdown pass today, which broke a 12-game streak. The last time he did not have a touchdown pass in a game was against Texas A&M last year.
- Senior cornerback Joselio Hanson picked off his third pass of the season late in the first quarter giving him four career interceptions. The interception was the first turnover created by the Tech defense since the game against Texas A&M on Oct. 5 in College Station.
- Redshirt freshman Taurean Henderson picked up his fifth rushing touchdown of the season in the first quarter to tie the game at 10-10.
- Senior placekicker Robert Treece tallied his eighth career 40-yard plus field goal to give Texas Tech a 13-10 lead with 7:21 remaining in the first half.
- Senior Anton Paige halted Colorado's opening drive of the third quarter when he blocked a 31-yard field goal attempt. The blocked field goal was the first of his career and marked the first time that Tech blocked a field goal since Aaron Hunt (Sr.-DE) blocked an attempt by North Carolina State earlier in the season.
- Sophomore defensive end Adell Duckett picked up his third sack of the season in the third quarter giving him a total of nine in his career.
- Sophomore linebacker Mike Smith picked up his first career interception with time running out in third quarter.
- The Tech defense picked up its first multiple turnover game since North Carolina State. In that game Tech got an interception and recovered a fumble. Tech picked off two passes earlier this year against SMU in Dallas.
- Tech was held scoreless in the second half which marked the first time the Red Raiders have been held scoreless in a half since the second half against Texas on Sept. 29, 2001 in Austin.
