Well it is Sunday once again, and looking back on the week, I must say it was a bittersweet seven days. The "bitter" part had to be on Wednesday when we traveled to Manhattan, Kansas, to take on the Kansas State Wildcats.
We battled for five grueling games only to fall short 15-12 in the 5th. Enough about Kansas State, lets move on to the "sweet" part of the week which was Saturday night's match. We hosted Missouri who is ranked 2nd in the conference and 21st in the nation. I think this was the most awesome match I have ever taken part in, it was up there with beating A&M in a thriller five-game match my sophmore year.
We came out a little shaky losing game one but played well enough to build a little momentum going into the second game. The next three games, everyone on the team played out of their minds. The passes were nails, the sets were right on, our serves were aggressive, and nearly every ball was terminated. It gives me chills to even talk about it because I am so proud of everyone for having the game of their lives.
Matches like Saturday night are why I love this game so much. We showed them what we were made of, and I truly believe that we are going to take that performance and run with it. We travel to Baylor on Wednesday, and their team is always solid, but if we play like we did on Saturday, they do not have a chance.
See you this coming Saturday when we host the Longhorns.
