LUBBOCK, Texas - Hula Bowl Maui announced today that Texas Tech senior defensive end Aaron Hunt (Denison, Texas) and senior offensive lineman Rex Richards (Midland, Texas) have accepted invitations to participate in the 2003 Hula Bowl next February. ESPN and Westwood One/CBS Radio will broadcast the game.
Hunt and Richards join Red Raider quarterback Kliff Kingsbury (New Braunfels, Texas), who accepted an invitation to the game in September.
In the first game of the season, Hunt became Texas Tech's all-time sacks leader and has 29 in his career. He is a half of a sack away from matching the Big 12 record and ranks among the NCAA's all-time top five. Hunt is second among active Red Raiders with 38 career starts.
Richards, who along with Hunt and Kingsbury is a team captain, is the veteran on the Tech roster. Richards was the first true freshman to earn a starting position under former head coach Spike Dykes and leads the team with 38 career starts.
Texas Tech hosts Oklahoma State Sat., Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. at Jones SBC Stadium.
