Tech Women's Golf Travels to Aggieland

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team will compete Mon. & Tue., March 4-5, in College Station at the 2002 Verizon "Mo"morial Tournament hosted by Texas A&M University. The Red Raiders will face tough competition against an 18-team field, nine of which are ranked in Golfweek.com's Top 50 schools and seven Big 12 opponents.
Earlier this week, the 45th-ranked Red Raiders completed their first competition of the spring season in a tie for 13th place with Big 12 rival Missouri at the Central Regional Invitational in Parrish, Fla.
Jennifer Newhouse led the Red Raiders finishing in the top 20 at the tournament in a four-way tie for 19th while teammates Megan Hull and Jackie Ey finished in the top 40 tied for 35th and 38th, respectively.
Junior Stephanie Dukes will see action for the first time since suffering an unspecified injury prior to the start of the spring campaign. The 5-foot-8 Dukes will try to regain her swing after a successful fall season winning her second career title at the season-opener Comcast/Dick McGuire Invitational.
The team will play its first 36 holes Monday at the Briarcrest Country Club in Bryan, Texas, at 8:15 a.m. The final round will begin Tuesday at 8:15 a.m.
