
Women's Tennis Drops Match to Oklahoma

LUBBOCK, Texas - Today, at the McLeod Tennis Center, the Texas Tech women's tennis team took on the 44th-ranked Sooners of the University of Oklahoma, losing the match 4-3. The team picked-up the doubles point and two singles points but were edged out in two tiebreakers to finish the match.
In doubles, the No.1 tandem of Irina Tereschenko and Beverly Dawson defeated OU's Bethany Griffin and Heather Saluri, 8-5. The No. 3 tandem of Alenka Ovin and Kendall Brooks also defeated Annette Bryntesson and Jessica Braver, 8-5, as Tech took the doubles point.
Alenka Ovin defeated Elena Jirnova, 6-1, 6-1, to get one of Tech's singles points of the day. While No. 6 Kendall Brooks added the other singles point by defeating Jessica Braver, 6-2, 7-5.
The Red Raiders return to action against Iowa State on Fri., March 29, in Ames, Iowa, at 1 p.m.
