
Women's Tennis Drops Big 12 Opponent Nebraska

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team picked up its second Big 12 win of the weekend by defeating Nebraska, 4-3, today, in Lincoln, Neb. The Red Raiders earned the doubles point and three singles points to take their first-ever-win over the Cornhuskers.
Tech started the day with the No. 1 doubles tandem of Irina Tereschenko and Beverly Dawson defeating Katarina Balan and Leslie Harvey (NU), 8-5. The No. 3 team of Alenka Ovin and Kendall Brooks determined the doubles point for Tech by defeating Anna Oehme and Stacy Tomkiewicz (NU), 9-7.
In singles, No. 2 Ovin and No. 6 Brooks picked up wins for the Tech team, but the deciding point in the match came from Dawson who defeated Rebecca Harvey (NU) 7-6, 7-5, giving the win to the Red Raiders.
Up next for Tech, is Texas A&M on Fri., April 5, at the McLeod Tennis Center beginning at noon.
