
Women's Tennis Get Huge Win Over Baylor

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team faced Big 12 conference opponent Baylor at the McLeod Tennis Center, today, defeating the 28th-ranked Bears, 5-2. The Red Raiders are now 9-11overall and 4-6 in conference play.
Tech started the day by winning the doubles point. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Irina Tereschenko and Beverly Dawson defeated Katja Kovac and Daria Potapova (BU), 8-1, and the No. 3 team of Alenka Ovin and Kendall Brooks defeated Whitney Morton and Barbora Blahutiakova (BU), 8-4.
In singles, Tech picked up four out of six points. No. 1 Tereschenko was defeated by 49th-ranked Kovac of Baylor, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, but the match was decided when No. 6 Brooks defeated Paola Stephen in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
Tech will face 40th-ranked Oklahoma State at the McLeod Tennis Center next Sat., April 20 at 10 a.m.
