LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior right-handed reliever Steve Rowe has agreed to terms with the Texas Rangers and has signed a contract as a free agent.

Rowe will report will play this summer in the Gulf Coast League and will be part of the Rangers organization down in Port Charlotte, Fla. He will report to Florida in the next week.

Rowe led the Texas Tech pitching staff this past season with a 1.51 ERA and a 10-2 overall record with eight saves. In 59 2/3 innings of work, he struckout 69 batters and allowed just 10 earned runs and 12 walks.
