I am so excited for this season as it is my last one and I am ready to get it going! The first night we reported we all went out to dinner at the County Line. It was a great opportunity to meet all of the freshmen and get to know them a little bit better...and the meal was great too!
Practices have been going really well. The freshmen have been doing great! They have caught on really quick and they haven't slowed down the pace of practice at all. Everybody seems to have a great attitude about practice and the upcoming season. We can't wait to get the games going as we have some great tournaments scheduled, New York, Las Vegas, and of course the Four Points Classic here in Lubbock. I hope you keep tuning in and keep supporting us throughout the year! Go Raiders!!!

This year I was extremely excited to transfer in to Texas Tech with four years of eligibility left to play. I came up early in the summer to start training for the fall season and to meet some of the girls before hand. I knew it would be hard work, but I guess it would be that way at any school.
All the girls accepted me and seemed excited to start play in the fall. Along with our coaches, we all feel like we will have a good team with the girls coming in and a great season ahead of us. The freshmen that were either already here or coming in from their homes seemed extremely strong and ready to play. I felt that each girl could hold her own and with some instruction and coaching in time each of us should become a better player. Having already experienced two-a-days last year, I was very nervous coming into this year. I don't know if the other girls were but, for me, I felt more nervous this year than last. Also as a transfer I felt that this year's freshmen, as a whole, were much better than what I had seen at my previous institution. I think that this year the Texas Tech volleyball team will be very strong in all areas.
So far two-a-days are going extremely well. All the girls are working their hardest to earn a spot on the court and just even going all out each day! Even though we still have many practices to go, I think that this team can only get stronger and grow with each players determination and will to achieve anything. I really think that our team can go as far as we want to this year, it all depends on how badly we want to win. From my perspective, it seems that each girl on this team will do anything to accomplish that goal.
