Tech Officially Kicks Off Game Week

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech practiced on the grass fields southeast of Jones SBC Stadium Sunday evening, officially kicking off game week preparations for this Saturday's game at Ohio State. The practice began at 8 p.m. and lasted an hour and a half.
Special teams worked through routine drills early on, while the latter half of the practice was devoted to team drills.
Following practice the team voted quarterback Kliff Kingsbury, linebacker Lawrence Flugence, defensive end Aaron Hunt and offensive guard Rex Richards as team captains for the 2001 season.
The Red Raiders will take Monday off and resume workouts for the Ohio State game at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Texas Tech and the Buckeyes square off in the Pigskin Classic at 1:30 p.m. (CT) Sat., Aug. 24.
