Former Volleyball Player, Brown, Signs Pro Contract

LUBBOCK, Texas - Former Texas Tech volleyball player Brande Brown signed an eight-month contract with team Linz of the Austrain Volleyball League early Friday morning. Brown becomes the second former Red Raider to ink a pro contract this summer.
The Fort Worth, Texas, native's contract will run from September 2002-April 2003. Like Colleen Smith, Brown was discovered while playing with the "USA Team" at the Spring Cup in Croatia over the summer.
Brown joins Joanna Fielder (Michigan, 2000) as the only American women currently playing in the AVL.
Brown's career as a Red Raider spanned the 1994-1997 seasons and still holds the career mark for kills at 1,083.
