I arrived here on August 6 after traveling the great distance of across town. We are now into our third week of practicing, which so far has been hard, but also rewarding. I have had a lot of fun over the last few weeks, learned a lot of new stuff, but it has also been a very big adjustment in several dimensions of my life. The most obvious one being playing college volleyball, which is faster paced and a lot more intense than high school or club ball. I also started school this week, which is very different, but will be a nice change from the monotonous routine of high school.
We will be leaving to play in the Hofstra tournament in New York tomorrow morning. We will be playing three games, Farfield, Kentucky, and of course Hofstra. I have never been to New York, so I cannot express how excited I am about going. I am looking forward to playing actual opponents, not that scrimmaging ourselves isn't also fun, but it will be nice to get a feel for what college competition is like. I am looking forward to this weekend, and this season. I think it will be GREAT!
