
Tech Cross Country Runs to Third, Sixth Place Finishes

LUBBOCK, Texas - Back in action for the first time in two weeks the Texas Tech men's and women's cross country team raced to sixth and third place finishes, respectively, at the UNM Lobo Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., Saturday morning.
The women's team placed third overall with 78 points behind Air Force (39 points) and New Mexico (61 points). Junior Bridget Tidwell turned in Tech's best performance of the meet running the 6K course in 22:50. Brionne Yosten and Abby Schubert placed 13th and 18th, respectively, as the only three Red Raiders in the top 20.
Joseph McCellon was the lone male runner to place in the top 20 as the men's team finished in sixth place with 244 points.
Both teams will be back in New Mexico as they travel to Las Cruces next weekend to compete in the NMSU Kachina Classic next weekend.
