I want to send a big "Thanks" to all those who came out to support Tech volleyball last weekend. Volleyball is yet to rank up there with football and basketball as far as attendance, but if everyone will spread the word of how much fun they had at the game, maybe we can get our numbers up.
Friday night's match against Clemson was great. Both teams fought their hearts out, but we ended up beating them in four. Even though the girls all played awesome, I think the band and the crowd deserve a lot of the credit. I know I was fired up to see everyone getting into the game by cheering and just having a good time.
Sunday's match was a nail-biter. We came out ready to win a championship. That was very obvious the first two games as we came out on top. However, Arizona State never gave up and fought back to get the next three, claiming the championship, and leaving us with a teary-eyed second place. Jessy, Angela, and Kelly were placed on the All-Tournament team.
We don't have time to think about our loss because we have to play Tuesday against New Mexico State. We're looking for a hard and focused practice on Monday to get us ready for action. I hope to see even more support as we take on the Aggies of New Mexico State at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the USA!!!
