Last weekend we traveled to New York, and what an experience it was. On Thursday, we were plunged into the New York lifestyle right away when we arrived at rush hour. It was an experience we will never forget.
On Friday, we started tournament play against Fairfield. They gave us a battle, but we came on strong for our first match of the season and beat them in three. On Saturday, we had to wake up early for our match against Kentucky, which started at 10:00 am. Kentucky had some big girls, but that just fired us up even more. I had a great time playing this one because we just dominated the entire match. They were the team to beat at this tournament and we let them have it. Our last match of the tournament was against Hofstra for the championship. Hofstra was a smaller team but they were solid. They put up a good fight but in the end we beat them in three for first place.
Overall, it was a wonderful weekend and to top it all off we went sightseeing in New York City on Sunday. We all had a blast, but sadly this weekend is behind us, and now our attention must be focused on Ball State, UNLV, and California.
