Raiders travel to Ames, Iowa to battle the Cyclones

Lubbock, TX - The Texas Tech University Red Raiders travel to Ames, Iowa, to battle the Cyclones of Iowa State University on Wednesday, February 12, in a 7:00 p.m. contest televised by the Texas Tech Television Network.
Tech TV will pick-up the Cyclone TV broadcast with play-by-play provided by John Walters. Gary Thompson will deliver the analysis of the game action. Jack Dale in his 50th year of broadcasting will handle the play-by-play calls on the All Sports Radio Network. Michael Lewis, former Coach Knight player, will provide courtside analysis.
In the last game, Andre Emmett notched a season high 34 points as the Raiders fell to the Missouri Tigers in Columbia, Missouri, by nine points (82 -73) on Sunday afternoon on ABC. Andre was 14-of-20 from the field (including 1-of-2 from beyond the three-point arc) and 5-of-8 from the free throw line. Will Chavis canned 12 points coming off the bench.
The Raiders defeated the Cornhuskers of Nebraska on February 5th in the United Spirit Arena as Coach Bob Knight earned his 800th victory in his 37-year season as a collegiate head coach.
Coach Knight is now the fourth coach to accumulate 800 wins. Jim Phelan (Mount St. Marys) has 824 wins, the late Adolph Rupp won 876, and Dean Smith (Bob Knight's close friend) leads everyone with a remarkable 879 wins.
This evening's contest between the Red Raiders and the Cyclones will be Coach Knight's 1,105th game as a head coach. Jim Phelan (Mount St. Marys) leads the NCAA D-1 active coaches with 1,346 games. Coach Phelan has recently announced his retirement after 49 seasons.
Coach Bob Knight now has 800 career victories. He also has three former assistants each with 500+ wins in their collegiate coaching careers...Don DeVoe (Navy), Mike Krzyzewski (Duke), and Dave Bliss (Baylor).
