Tech Softball Continues Big 12 Play Against Mizzou

Lubbock, Texas - The Texas Tech softball team will continue its six-game home stand this weekend as it hosts conference foe, the Missouri Tigers. The first game of the series is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, while the finale is set to begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Tech (14-24, 1-1 Big 12) earned a split with Texas A&M in its conference opener Wednesday. The Lady Raiders are led by the hitting of Arlene Newton who is hitting at a .339 clip and Kelly Rhyne who leads the team in hits, with 38, and is batting .325 on the year. Freshman Erin Crawford earned the win in Tech's conference opener over the Aggies going the distance allowing just one run, while scattering four hits.
Missouri (15-11, 0-0 Big 12) has not played in a conference game this season after having its series with the Kansas Jayhawks rained out Thursday. The Tigers went 3-1 in its final tournament, the Houston Classic, prior to starting conference action this weekend.
Saturday's game will be the first of four in three days for the Lady Raiders as the Southwest Texas State Bobcats will be in town for a doubleheader on Monday.
