Tech Softball Takes Conference Play On Road

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Lady Raider softball team heads to Stillwater, Okla., for a two game series with the OSU Cowgirls beginning Sat. at 2 pm and concluding Sun. at 1 pm. The Cowgirls hold the series record 11-6.
The team (14-28, 1-3) is led by freshman Arlene Newton, who enters the season on a six game hitting streak. Newton holds a .354 batting average and a team-high nine doubles. OSU (25-6, 4-0) is led by pitcher Lauren Bay who has a team high .333 batting average and a team low 0.43 ERA.
The last match up between the squads was a 1-0 Tech shutout at Rocky Johnson Field, April 7, 2002. Of the six games won, Tech has only logged one win at Cowgirl Stadium coming in March 24, 2001.
