
Women's Tennis Announces 2003-04 Schedule

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head women's tennis coach Cari Groce has announced the 2003-04 schedule for the Lady Raiders. Tech will compete in six tournaments in the fall, while opening its spring season at North Texas Feb. 1.
In the fall, the Lady Raiders will compete in the University of Arkansas Invitational (Sept. 12-14), the All-American Championships in Los Angeles, Calif. (Oct. 9-12) and the Air Force Academy Invitational (Oct. 10-12). Tech will head to Fort Worth, Texas for the ITA Regionals (Oct. 17-20) and to Ann Arbor, Mich., for the ITA Nationals Indoors (Nov. 6-9). The Lady Raiders will also participate in the Texas A&M Duals (Nov. 7-9).
Texas Tech will open its 2004 spring schedule with six-straight road matches: North Texas (Feb. 1), Colorado State (Feb. 13), a Big 12 match-up at Colorado (Feb. 14), Sam Houston State Duals (Feb. 20-21), Texas-San Antonio (Feb. 28) and a conference match at Texas (Feb. 29).
The Lady Raiders will host their first home match of the year on March 6 against Kansas State in league play. Tech will travel to Missouri (March 13) and Kansas (March 14) for conference matches before returning to Lubbock to host three matches against Texas-El Paso (March 19), Air Force (March 20) and Big 12 opponent Baylor (March 21). The team will play two matches in Tulsa, Okla., versus Tulsa (March 27) and Oral Roberts (March 28). The rest of the schedule will be conference matches with Texas A&M (April 2), Oklahoma State (April 3), at Iowa State (April 10), at Nebraska (April 11) and Oklahoma (April 18). The Big 12 Championships will be held April 28-May 1 in Norman, Okla. The NCAA Regionals are May 14-16 and the NCAA Championships will be hosted by the University of Georgia May 20-29.
