Red and Black Scrimmage Set for Saturday Afternoon

LUBBOCK, Texas - The 2003 Texas Tech volleyball squad will compete in an intra-squad match Sat., Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. in the United Spirit Arena. This will be the only opportunity for fans to see the squad prior to Sept. 20, when Tech hosts Kansas State at the USA.
The Red Raiders return 10 players with only one senior, Lubbock native Angela Mooney. Laura Grote (Austin, Texas), Jessy Herrera (New Braunfels, Texas), Daneen Grisham (Wimberley, Texas) and Kelly Johnson (Fort Worth, Texas) are experienced juniors who look to lend a hand to Mooney in her leadership role.
Breanna Pursley (Tempe, Ariz.), Abby Schukman (Leavenworth, Kan.), Jessica Watson (Jewett, Texas) and Lubbock natives Christina Miller and Katie Halley round out the roster of returning players for Tech.
Three freshmen will be suiting up for Tech this season with Robyn Bucy (El Paso, Texas), Kiley Lyons (Amarillo, Texas) and Raven Garret (The Colony, Texas) all looking for immediate playing time.
Warm-ups are scheduled to start at 2 p.m. with the scrimmage immediately following. The scrimmage is free and open to the public.
