LUBBOCK, Texas - The Red Raider volleyball squad traveled to Lincoln, Neb., for its most competitive match of the season as they fell in three games (30-18, 30-27, 30-18) to the Cornhuskers tonight. The Red Raiders almost grabbed game two from the Cornhuskers but were stopped by an aggressive defense.
Tech could not stop an explosive Nebraska offense with the team tallying only two blocks during the match, holding the Cornhuskers to a .362 hitting percentage.
Freshman Kiley Lyons led the team in both kills and digs with 10 each. Sophomore Breanna Pursley joined Lyons with 10 digs and contributed one assisted block. Freshman Raven Garrett hit at a .429 clip with three kills and one assisted block.
Tech (8-5, 0-4) will bring it home with a match versus Iowa State Wednesday Oct. 1 at the United Spirit Arena.
