Tereschenko and Brooks Receive Preseason Doubles Ranking

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its 2003 preseason rankings and the Lady Raiders' doubles team of Irina Tereschenko and Kendall Brooks are ranked 42nd in the country.
Tereschenko, a native of Moscow, Russia, is Texas Tech's top returning doubles player with a 13-3 record. Tereschenko teamed with former Tech standout Beverly Dawson in 2002-03 and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. The Corpus Christi, Texas, native Brooks finished last season with an 8-8 doubles record as she was paired with current Lady Raider Tara Browning.
Seniors Tereschenko and Brooks are one of five Big 12 duos ranked in the top 50 in the nation.
The Lady Raiders will open their fall season at the Hurricane Invitational in Tulsa, Okla., Sept. 26-28.
