Wednesday's Game
No. 7/7 Texas Tech (17-2/3-2) hosts Texas A&M (7-10/0-6) at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28 at the United Spirit Arena. The game will be televised on the Red Raider Sports Network - locally on UPN Lubbock - with play-by-play by Vinnie Vinzetta and Crystal Boles as the color analyst. The game can be heard on the All Sports Radio Network as Ryan Hyatt calls the game.
The Lady Raiders
Texas Tech is 17-2 and 3-2 in the Big 12 after losing in double overtime at Oklahoma State, 88-87. On the year, freshman Alesha Robertson leads the team in scoring with an 11.9 average followed by senior Natalie Ritchie at 8.7. Senior Casey Jackson is the top rebounder, grabbing 6.9 boards per outing. Sophomore Jametra Clark is shooting 51.7 percent from the field, while Jackson is shooting 51.5 percent. Robertson is shooting 42.2 percent from the three-point arc, while Ritchie is shooting 36.8 percent from three-point range. Sophomore Erin Grant has a team-high 127 assists, while Jackson leads the team in steals with 27. Junior Cisti Greenwalt is the top shot blocker with 37 blocks. The Lady Raiders are shooting 45 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from three-point range and 66.5 percent from the free throw line.
Scouting the Opponent
Texas A&M enters the game with a 7-10 overall record and 0-6 in the Big 12 after falling to Texas, 64-62, in College Station last Sunday. In that game, senior Toccara Williams poured in a game-high 24 points while sophomore Tamea Scales chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds. Williams collected seven assists and nine steals.
On the year, Williams paces the Aggies in scoring with a 14.3 average followed by senior Janae Derrick at 8.2. Derrick is the top rebounder as she is averaging 6.6 boards per contest. Williams has team highs of 113 assists and 64 steals. Senior Lynn Classen has a team-high 35 blocks. Texas A&M is shooting 39.5 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from three-point range and 63.9 percent from the free throw line.
Gary Blair is in his first year at the helm of the Aggies establishing a record of 7-10. He is also in his 19th year as a head coach with a career record of 415-173.
Series Record
It is the 56th meeting between Texas Tech and Texas A&M with Tech holding a 47-8 advantage. The Lady Raiders won both meetings last season, 77-56 in College Station Jan. 8 and 83-38 in Lubbock Feb. 12. Tech has won 14-straight games. The last time A&M was victorious was in a 72-68 triumph on March 9,1996 at the Southwest Conference Tournament in Dallas. The Lady Raiders are 23-1 against the Aggies in Lubbock. Texas A&M's only win in Lubbock was a 66-64 victory Feb. 4, 1980.

Feb. 12, 2003 - Cisti Greenwalt poured in a game-high 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in leading Texas Tech to an 83-38 victory over Texas A&M. Jametra Clark added 11 points, while Jia Perkins chipped in 10 for the Lady Raiders. Casey Jackson collected a career-high nine assists. Toccara Williams led the Aggies with seven points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Tamea Scales also added seven points. Tech shot 54.2 percent from the field to Texas A&M's 25 percent.
Last Time Out
(AP) - Nicole Campbell hit a jumper from just inside the 3-point line with less than 30 seconds left in the second overtime period, leading Oklahoma State to an 88-87 upset of No. 3 Texas Tech on Saturday.
Nina Stone scored 20 of her 30 points after halftime, including four 3-pointers, and finished with seven assists for the Cowgirls (7-10, 2-4 Big 12). Center Trisha Skibbe added 14 points.
Alesha Robertson scored 27 points, and Cisti Greenwalt added 19 for Texas Tech (17-2, 3-2). Erin Grant had nine assists, and LaToya Davis finished with 10 rebounds.
Oklahoma State rallied from an eight-point deficit in the last 12 minutes of the second half. The Cowgirls led by four points with 30 seconds left in the first overtime before Texas Tech tied the game at 81.
In the second overtime, Oklahoma State overcame a late four-point deficit and went ahead to stay on Campbell's long jumper with 25.6 seconds left.
Tech beat Oklahoma State 106-43 in the teams' first meeting, Jan. 10 in Lubbock, Texas.
A Look Ahead
Texas Tech will play at Texas Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. on Fox Sports Net. Tech will face Kansas Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. in Lubbock on the Red Raider Sports Network. The Lady Raiders travel to Baylor Feb. 8 for a noon game on Fox Sports Net and will host Oklahoma Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. on the Red Raider Sports Network. Games on the Red Raider Sports Network will be televised locally on UPN Lubbock.
