Tech Sells Allotment of Bowl Tickets

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Athletics Ticket Office announced today that all 11,000 tickets allotted to the athletics department for the 2004 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl have been sold. According to bowl officials, the game is sold out.
Following the official bowl announcement on Sun., Dec. 5, Tech fans quickly began purchasing tickets for the Dec. 30 game against fourth-ranked California. The sell out marks the second-straight year that Tech has sold its allotment of tickets and fourth in the last five years.
"This is a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm our fans have for Texas Tech football," Tech Director of Athletics Gerald Myers said. "Once again the fans have come through for us. This began with our record season ticket sales during the preseason to our record average attendance during the season. Texas Tech has the best fans in college football."
Texas Tech Head Coach Mike Leach reiterated Myers' comments, acknowledging Texas Tech fans as the best in the country.
"I've said it all along, we have the greatest fan base around," Leach said. "On behalf of the team, coaches and staff, I would like to thank everyone for stepping forward and supporting Texas Tech football this year."
The 21st-ranked Red Raiders square off against the Bears on Thu., Dec. 30, at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on ESPN from Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
